Online education is the key to Dr. L's career

You too can get an online phd. Isn't that amazing?

Dr. Christopher Lucies. The name alone is amazing. It can, and will, emit secretions of potpourri from the gaseous substances in your flatulence. That's how amazing of a name it is. But now, there is even more meaning behind it. It's an actual person. And they work in Capella University's Human Services department, and they were just named president-elect of the Texas Mental Health Counselors Association! Congratulations D.C.L!

Capella is an accredited, online university in Minneapolis, MN. Dr Lucies teaches CACREP(the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs) counseling education and counseling studies programs in the online university’s School of Human Services. He was recently elected in September. So, besides wanting to congratulate him, I'm sure you are wondering also what that means. Okay, well, it means he will serve a 3 year term, divided into 3 parts. The first year is as president. The second year is as a consultant. And then the third year is the kicker! He gets to be a consultant to the TMHCA board! He'll organize board meetings, organize the association's yearly conference, mentor other board members, consult on issues that are ethical, speak publicly, and advocate. Sounds like a pretty sweet gig to me, dog. But it goes even deeper than that! Dr. L hopes to work toward completely and deliberately refining the LPC licensure title in the state of TX, to better show the roles of mental health counselors! [Insert football metaphor here!] He wants to increase membership too; which will create opportunities for all members to become involved within the association! Sweet! He's excited about this.

But did you know that Capella University is the first and as of now, only online university that has received official accreditation from CACREP from two master's degree specializations? Yup, that's right. I didn't say CACRAP. I said CACREP!

If you want to know more about Capella, you can check past blogs of mine, or look below:

They were founded in 1993 and are an accredited, fully online university that offers graduate degree programs in business, information technology, education, human services, psychology, public health, and public safety, and bachelor’s degree programs in business, information technology, and public safety. That's a lot of areas for a degree! And also within those areas, they offer 104 graduate and undergraduate specializations and 15 certificate programs! More than 20,000 students from all 50 states and 56 countries are served by the university and they are a subsidiary of Capella Education Company in Minneapolis. It's blatantly apparent that they are stupendous. So check them out, or act like a draft-dodger.
